Welcome New KEHA Officers – Welcome to the three newly elected KEHA state officers and chairs whose terms begin July 1, 2025. Also starting a new term on July 1, 2025, the current President-Elect will change positions. The incoming state board members are:
- President: Henrietta Sheffel, Breathitt County
- Secretary: Barbara Seiter, Boone County
- 4-H Youth Development Chair: Peggy Tracy, Bourbon County
- Management and Safety Chair: Diana Morgan, Grant County
State Meeting Recap – Thank you to everyone for a successful state meeting! It takes every area across the state fulfilling their assignments to make this meeting happen. Here are a few highlights from our week:
- Total attendance was 500, reaching capacity. There were 106 first-time attendees.
- The Business Meeting included bylaws changes. The complete voting delegate packet is available on the state meeting webpage.
- Cultural Arts included 741 entries. Judging results will be available on the state meeting webpage.
- More than $8,000 was raised to support designated projects through the basket raffle, silent auction, and quilt square auction.
- A check for $43,077.40 was presented to the UK Ovarian Cancer Research and Screening Program.
- Attendees enjoyed 30 workshops, 11 craft classes, and training for state officers and educational chairs.

Save the Date for 2026 State Meeting – Next year’s KEHA State Meeting will take place May 12-14, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency in Lexington, Ky. Watch for details coming soon!
Manual Updates Coming Soon – The State Board appointed a Manual Review Committee and the Voting Delegates approved bylaws changes. The new manual will be available after July 1. Please refer to the new copy after this date and adjust any online bookmarks to the new version once it is available.
Host an Exchange Student – The 4-H International Exchange Committee needs more Host Families for incoming youth and chaperones. For every family recruited, they will give your county $100 for educational programming. Counties should send three to five names (with email and cell phone if possible) of possible Host Families from the county directly to Chuck Stamper at cstamper@uky.edu. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible. The young people (ages 13-18) and chaperones are coming from Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. They are coming to experience American culture as part of a family. Delegates will stay from:
- Taiwan: July 3 - August 2
- Japan & Korea: July 21 - August 16

National Volunteer Outreach Network (NVON) Conference – The 26th annual NVON Conference will be July 8-10, 2025, in Springfield, IL. Any KEHA member is eligible to register and attend. Meeting details are available at https://www.nvon.org/nvon-conference/. Meeting registration deadline is June 1 and hotel registration deadline is June 7.
ACWW Area Meeting in July – ACWW is having their USA Area Conference in Erlanger, KY, on July 21-24, 2025. It will be an opportunity to network, build capacity, and share knowledge from communities across the region. Workshops/learning sessions will cover such topics as: Pollinators; Horticulture Therapy; Working With your Elected Officials; Environmental Wellness; and more. - June 1 – Registration deadline for NVON Conference.
- June 7 – Registration deadline for NVON hotel.
- June 30 – KEHA year ends.
- July 1 – Due date for club reports to be submitted to the county (paper forms). This includes both program of work reports and volunteer service logs.
- July 8-10 – NVON Conference in Springfield, IL.
- July 21-24 – ACWW USA Area Conference in Erlanger, KY.
