2017-2018 KEHA Reports - It is time to submit KEHA program of work and volunteer service unit reports! Club reports were due to county chairmen by July 1, 2018. County reports are due to area chairmen by August 15, 2018. Area reports are due to state chairmen by September 15, 2018. Be sure to use the forms dated 2017-2018. Fillable PDF files are available on the reports page.
KEHA Food, Nutrition and Health Chairman Vacancy
The Kentucky Extension Homemakers Association is seeking leaders interested in filling a vacancy for the Food, Nutrition and Health Chairman. The successful candidate will complete the remainder of the unexpired term which ends June 30, 2020. Interested leaders should submit the KEHA State Educational Chairman Nomination Form accessible at: http://keha.ca.uky.edu/files/educational_chairman_credential_form.pdf. The form should be submitted via certified mail by July 31, 2018. Send to Starlene Harris, KEHA Secretary, 138 Dickerson Road, Olive Hill, KY 41164-8116. As dictated in the bylaws, the KEHA Executive Committee will then appoint a candidate to fulfill the unexpired the term. Please share with leaders in who you feel may be interested.
KEHA Manual Updates - The updated KEHA Manual (Handbook and Appendix) was posted to www.keha.org on July 2nd. Click the Member Resources tab in the top menu to access the KEHA Manual page. On this page, you will find links to the complete Handbook section, table of contents for the section and a link to a PDF file with only the pages that were changed this year. Likewise for the Appendix – you will find links to the complete Appendix section, table of contents for the section and a link to a PDF file with only the pages that were changed this year. Two printed copies of the UPDATED pages are being mailed to each county Extension office. The individual web pages for the KEHA Educational Chairmen have also been updated and provide access to the most current Handbook and Appendix pages.
2019 KEHA State Meeting - Planning is underway for the 2019 KEHA State Meeting to be held May 14-16 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville. The lodging room block is open for reservations. The room rate is $114 per night + tax for standard rooms. There are several suite options ranging from $139 + tax to $189 + tax. To reserve by phone, call 1-888-233-9527 and request the KEHA rate. Reservations may also be made online, and the link is posted on the KEHA website under the “State Meeting” tab.
2019 KEHA State Meeting – Learning Session Proposals – Learning session proposals for the 2019 KEHA State Meeting are due by October 15 to Sharon Wood, KEHA 1st Vice President, 11 Cindy Ann Avenue, Campbellsville, KY 42718. The form is in the KEHA Manual Appendix. KEHA members are encouraged to consider presenting a learning session at the state meeting next year!
KEHA Merchandise – As you plan for fall events and activities, please keep in mind that KEHA has logo merchandise available for purchase. All items currently in inventory are $5 or less each. View photos of the marketing items and access the order form on the KEHA website (www.keha.org) under the Marketing & Recruiting tab. Items with the new logo will be available later this year. NEW KEHA Logo - During the KEHA Business Meeting on May 8, 2018, the voting delegates approved adoption of a new logo for KEHA. The new logo represents the first update to the organization’s branding in decades. See the new logo and learn more at: http://keha.ca.uky.edu/content/keha-adopts-new-logo. Graphic files are available to FCS agents/Extension staff through the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension internal web page. Branding Guidelines will be released in August.
KEHA Officer Training Materials - KEHA officer training materials specific to the 2018-2019 KEHA year and connected to the theme “Exploring Our Kentucky Heritage” are now available. The resource materials include a facilitator’s guide, evaluation, graphic, two sets of presentation slides, an installation ceremony and a dates to remember handout. Access these resources at: http://keha.ca.uky.edu/content/theme-materials.
KEHA Club Materials – The KEHA Recreation, Inspiration and Book List are now available at www.keha.org under the “Member Resources” tab. One copy per club plus one file copy have been mailed to each county Extension office.
