Meet Your KEHA Board – Karen Hill, President-Elect, 2018-2019
How long have you been a member of KEHA? 12 years
What do you enjoy most about your involvement with KEHA? The friends I have made and all the things that I have learned from local lessons and attending state and area meetings.
Consider your current position on the KEHA Board. Why were you interested in serving in this position? Is there a goal you would like to fulfill during the remainder of your term? I am currently President-Elect and am interested in carrying on our traditions as well as helping to boost our image as professionals. I am looking forward to promoting our new leadership academy so we can all learn how to be more professional leaders in the coming years. We need to find a way to promote our organization to the younger generations so we can move forward into the future and continue to be a strong organization in the years to come.
If you could share one key message with a non-member who is considering joining KEHA, what would it be? Don’t think twice about joining us. You will make lifelong friends and learn new skills and have a great time along the way!
Please share a brief description of your other involvements with Extension. I am a member of the Henderson County Extension Council, and I currently serve as Henderson County FCS Advisory Council Secretary-Treasurer, Henderson County District Board Vice-President and State Extension Advisory Council Vice-President.
What are your three favorite hobbies? Reading, needlework such as crochet, needlepoint and knitting, and working crossword puzzles.
