March 1st is the deadline for KEHA contests scholarships and grants. Please review below, click the links to access information and forms, and be sure to submit your entries! For questions regarding any of the upcoming deadlines, contact the officer or chairperson listed below.

  • Cultural Arts—Creative Writing - The creative writing contest includes three categories – poetry, short stories and memoirs. All KEHA members are eligible to submit original works. Send entries to Marilyn Watson, Cultural Arts Chairman, 2286 Melwood Drive, Henderson, KY 42420. Questions can be directed to Marilyn at 270-827-1385 or via email to mjmw1315@twc.com.
  • Environment, Housing and Energy Contest  - The Environment, Housing and Energy Awards will recognize KEHA members, clubs and counties working to beautify their communities by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program.   • Family and Individual Development Contest  - The Family and Individual Development contest will recognize KEHA projects that are designed to strengthen families. Send entries to Leoni Mundelius, Family and Individual Development Chairman, 675 Ky Hwy 198, Stanford, KY 40484.   • 4-H Youth Development Contest   - The 4-H Youth Development contest will recognize individuals, clubs and counties for their work in support of 4-H through volunteer service and 4-H Camp Scholarships.  Send entries to Nancy Snouse, KEHA 4-H Youth Development Chairman at 6110 Twelve Oaks Drive, Ashland, KY 41102.   • Food, Nutrition and Health Contests - The KEHA Food, Nutrition and Health contest seeks to recognize clubs, counties or areas who have conducted outstanding fundraising for ovarian cancer research and screening or completed projects focused on promoting a healthy Kentucky.   • International Project Awards - The KEHA International program includes an opportunity for recognition related to four specific program goals.   • Community Volunteerism Awards - The KEHA Community Volunteerism awards recognize clubs or counties for involvement in community leadership, community issues or community service.   • Evans/Hansen/Weldon Scholarship - The Evans/Hansen/Weldon scholarship is for graduating high school seniors or current college students pursuing a degree in a family and consumer sciences discipline.   • KEHA Homemaker Member Scholarship - The KEHA Homemaker Member Scholarship is awarded to a KEHA member (at least 3 years of membership) pursuing a first degree or certification in any field.   • KEHA Mini-Grants for Research or Study  - KEHA mini-grants are awarded to KEHA members, Family and Consumer Sciences Extension agents or Family and Consumer Sciences Extension state staff for research and study that will provide a benefit to KEHA.   • KEHA Development Grants - KEHA Development Grants are awarded to counties or areas for implementation of projects to benefit the membership. Applications must be prepared by KEHA members and outline the role of members and FCS professionals.
