KEHA March 1 Deadlines


March 1 is the deadline for KEHA contests, scholarships, and grants. Please review below, click the links to access information and forms, and be sure to submit your entries! For questions regarding any of the upcoming deadlines, contact the officer or chairperson listed below.

 

  • Cultural Arts Creative Writing Contest (Handbook 37-39) – The creative writing contest includes three categories – poetry, short stories, and memoirs.   • Environment, Housing and Energy Adopt-A-Highway Contest (Handbook 49) – The Environment, Housing and Energy Awards will recognize KEHA members, clubs, and counties working to beautify their communities by participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program.   • Family and Individual Development Nurturing Families Contest (Handbook 55) – The Family and Individual Development contest will recognize KEHA projects that focus on nurturing families.   • Food, Nutrition and Health Contests – Food, Nutrition & Health Awards: Ovarian Cancer Fundraising Contest and Promoting a Healthy KY Contest (Handbook 60) – The KEHA Food, Nutrition and Health contest seeks to recognize clubs, counties, or areas who have conducted outstanding fundraising for ovarian cancer research and screening or completed projects focused on promoting a healthy Kentucky.   • 4-H Youth Development Contest – Homemakers Support 4-H (four award categories) (Handbook 64-65) – The 4-H Youth Development contest will recognize individuals, clubs, and counties for their work in support of 4-H through volunteer service and 4-H Camp Scholarships.   • International Project Awards – International Contest and Awards (Handbook 73) – The KEHA International program includes an opportunity for recognition related to projects focused on program goals.   • Community Volunteerism Awards (Handbook page 88) – The KEHA Community Volunteerism awards recognize clubs, or counties for involvement in community leadership, community issues or community service.   • Evans/Hansen/Weldon Scholarship (Handbook pages 94-98) – The Evans/Hansen/Weldon Scholarship is open to any full-time student attending a college or accredited undergraduate program in Kentucky and majoring in a Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Environmental Science degree program.   • KEHA Homemaker Member Scholarship (Handbook pages 99-102) – The KEHA Homemaker Member Scholarship is open to KEHA members with a minimum of 3 years of active membership. The scholarship may be used for any college or university, as well as for a trade or technical school. It is intended for students pursuing their first degree or certification.   • KEHA Mini-Grants for Study or Research (Handbook pages 104-106) – KEHA offers mini-grants of up to $500 for study or research. Applications may be submitted by KEHA members, FCS agents, or FCS specialists.   • KEHA Development Grants (Handbook pages 107-111) – KEHA development grants provide areas and counties with the opportunity to obtain funding for projects.
